Outer Sunset roaster that began in a 600-square-foot café.

Lauren Crabbe, a former Blue Bottle lead barista, and Michael McCrory started Andytown in 2014 on Lawton Street, where roasting, baking, and service shared one room. A Taraval Street site is now the roastery and training lab, and as of October 2026 there are nine cafés in San Francisco, from Lawton Street to 66 Kearny Street in FiDi, plus one more in Menlo Park.

The Wind & Sea blend combines Colombian and Ethiopian lots, and the online shop also sells single origins from Burundi, Mexico, and Indonesia. The company says it is a WBENC-certified women-owned business and a San Francisco Green Business.

At this shop

The shop is a counter inside Gus's Community Market on Harrison Street in the Mission, behind a black awning and a timber bench along the front window, with a painted mural covering the corner of the building. Inside, a mural of San Francisco street scenes covers the seating wall, where a long wooden bench runs beneath it, and tall windows behind the bar look onto trees. Drinks are made at a curved counter faced in vertical wood slats, with the menu boards on the wall above.
