Mother Tongue is an East Bay roaster, and the shop was still serving it in a September 2026 Instagram post. A menu photographed in 2026 shows espresso drinks, nitro cold brew and a toast list with avocado and smoked trout, and Chemex and V60 gear sits on the retail shelves.
The shop is a narrow storefront at Geary and Leavenworth, with floor-to-ceiling glass facing the sidewalk and an awning window that opens in the facade. Pendant lights made from slats of old wooden rulers hang over the bar, and handwritten kraft-paper menus cover the wall behind it. Yellow stools line a wood ledge along the window, and black steel benches stand on the sidewalk outside.
