Brothers Giuseppe and Bruno Bambi started the company in Florence in 1927 and named it after the city's lion symbol. A horizontal boiler Giuseppe patented in 1939 became an industry standard, and the GS of 1970 paired two boilers to hold brew temperature steady. The factory moved to Scarperia in 2009, the year the Strada introduced pressure profiling.
